The ladies did it again! The WOSHL has reached capacity in just over 13 hours!! Truly impressive! If you did not get in, be sure to add your name to our waiting list by sending your $80 entry fee to oshl@hotmail.ca . With the tournament still more than a month and a half away...we will inevitably have some players that have to drop out. In the event that you do not get a spot, we will reimburse you the full amount.
The WOSHL is back...with room to grow! With the inaugural tournament being such a success we've made the move to the big leagues...Millennium Place in Sherwood Park. The move will enable the tourney to expand from 8 to 12 teams. Having 12 teams is kind of a big deal...it now allows the tourney to move to a three division format, where each division will play both their games at the same time, on the same floor. This is also means that, while we have more teams, the tourney itself won't take as long.
For those who made it out last year...it was a gruelling day that was played one game at a time. A 9 am start stretched all the way until the final whistle which blew shortly after 9:30 pm...12 and a half hours.
This year, the tourney will again begin at 9 am, but the Paris Jewellers Cup will be awarded well before 6 pm.
Other benefits to moving the tournament to Millennium are; actual locker rooms, ample seating for spectators, food on site, real boards, and much more!
For those who are new to the tournament, or wondering what it is about...first and foremost, this is a 3-on-3 draft-style tournament. Teams are made up of 7 players (6 runners, 1 goalie) who are selected by one of the 12 pre-determined GM's on the Thursday night prior to the Tournament itself during the WOSHL Draft. We encourage all registered players, family, and friends to attend the Draft. Please refer to our FAQ's section on the website to help answer some of the questions you may have.
HOW TO SIGN UP
Registration kicks off Saturday, March 11th on a first-come-first-serve basis. There are only a total of 72 spots available (which includes 11 goalie and 61 player spots). In order to reserve your place in Tourney II of the WOSHL you simply need to send your $80 registration fee to oshl@hotmail.ca. Please be sure to include the name you want used on this site, as well as your email address in the message area of the etransfer.
